Central Receiving provides a centralized delivery address for supplies and equipment inbound to Wayne State University and is employed to assure goods are re-delivered in a safe and timely manner to the correct recipient’s address and document receipts in Banner within 24-hours. Central Receiving focuses on customer satisfaction, utilizing technological advances, logistical planning and expanding services to meet the needs of the university.
The goal of Central Receiving is to relieve the campus of as much commercial traffic as possible and to provide to the department a delivery service that documents receipts in Banner. This service helps departments avoids duplicating services, equipment and staffed receiving facilities. Central Receiving provides these services utilizing the latest technology allowing the staff to track all incoming packages the moment they arrive on campus through its intended delivery destination.
