Filling in account information correctly
Filling in your WSU account information correctly is essential and allows for fast, accurate billing procedures to your WSU department account and IRB. Following are visuals to aid you in doing so when using both the CampusShip website and handwritten UPS Air Shipping Documents (ASDs). If you have any further questions in regards to account information, please contact us on campus at (313) 577-3618 or via email at:  UPS_Interns@hotmail.com.

When using the UPS CampusShip website to ship packages, type in your 6-digit WSU account number and IRB in the appropriate field above. In most cases the account number will already be filled in for you. When entering your IRB please include a capital “I” followed by the 6-digit IRB number.

When using a UPS Air Shipping Document (ASD) you will write your WSU account number along with your IRB on the “REFERENCE NUMBER” line. Separate each with a comma.

The line should look like this:
123456, I543210

Always include a phone number and never use another department’s ASDs. For questions on filling out ASDs correctly please call (313) 577-3618 or email UPS_Interns@hotmail.com

Getting your package on the move
After you’ve prepared your package for shipping, it’s time to get it on the move. Creating a shipment using the UPS CampusShip website DOES NOT automatically schedule a pick-up. Please follow one of the options below to make sure your package departs on time.

If you prefer to drop the package off in one of the many conveniently located drop boxes on campus, follow this link to locate the drop box closest to you. Please note the Pick-Up time of the drop box you’ve selected on the website to ensure that you have not missed the day’s last pickup. Drop boxes are only to be used for air shipments and are intended for small packages and letters. If you have a larger package or are using a service other than Next Day or 2nd Day air please follow one of the other options discussed below.

If your building/department has a daily pickup, just have your shipment ready and in the designated pickup spot for when the driver arrives. You can also drop your package off at any authorized UPS shipping outlet.

You may also schedule a desktop pickup where the driver will be sent to your office to pick up your shipment. Be sure to enter the appropriate information accurately to ensure a quick pickup. Please note that the site will ask for your UPS Account number. This number can be found at the bottom left of your main page when logged in to UPS CampusShip under “Payment Information”. This is NOT your six-digit WSU Account or IRB number. A pickup can also be scheduled by calling 1-800-PICK-UPS.

If you have further questions or need assistance with scheduling a Pick-Up or if your package was not picked up, please contact us on campus at (313) 577-3618 or by e-mail at UPS_Interns@hotmail.com. You can also call 1-800-PICK-UPS for assistance.
